This Project is a sculpture, placed at a significant road section, leading visitors in to St.Olav´s Hospital in Trondheim / Norway.Despite the substantial size of the hospital, St. Olav’s appears as a visually anonymous institution. It was therefore important create not only a sculpture, but a portal.Besides the signal function, our ambition was to express something solid, safe and positive. Something you can trust.

In addition, the portal should also express the hospital’s modern and high tech character, both in precision and technical design.

Construction: A tightly woven truss construction with a width of only 1 meter, with pulsating fiber optics in its core. The construction is global strength calculated, analysed and designed in relation to existing traffic safety standards.
