Soundscape

23 Oct 2010 /

Soundscape is an installation in honour to Arne Nordheim. The sculpture can be described as a large brass instrument for contemporary music. Based on works by composers the sculpture continuously generates new sounds activated by sensors picking up the presence of visitors. Various microphones, sensors and software are combined with wooden acoustic boxes and brass surfaces to create a mysterious and engaging environment.

One can say the sculpture allows people to participate in the composition of new, unheard songs.
